BRIEF HISTORY
Bombongan means a “place of many bamboo tubes”. Being situated away from the source of water, the barrio people are preparing containers for fetching water from U-Ugong Dam. They used long big bamboo tubes to held water water for household use. Each home had four to ten bamboo tubes or “bombong”, thus the barrio was named Bombongan.
Geography
The Barangay Bombongan is on a plateau, West of U-Ugong Falls and Puta Diro. South of Puta Diro is a mountain range called Balatik which separates Bombongan and Tatala, a barangay in Binangonan.
Puta Diro is the Kilometers away from the Poblacion on the West of Bombongan. It is on the South bank of Morong, Rizal. Within its vicinity is the U-Ugong Falls.
Topography
From the air Bombongan presents a view with varied topography. Its general appearance is like a rolling ridge toward to North and Northwest part of the Barangay.
Land Area
Barangay Bombongan occupies a land area of 27.87 hectares bounded on the North by Cardona, South by Barangay San Pedro, East by Laguna da bay and West by Balatik, a Barangay of Binangonan, Rizal.
Climate
Barangay Bombongan has two district seasons; the dry and wet season. The dry seasons occurs from November to May while wet season occurs from June to October which is favorable to farming, the main occupation of this Barangay.
