Tourism Office
The Municipal Tourism Office is a mandated office for all provinces and cities under the Local Government Code. It serves as the policy-advisory arm of the local government unit concerned responsible for the creation and upgrade of the basic services, commodities, transportation, tourist destinations, entertainment venues in order to accommodate wider range of diversified tourists.
The Municipal Tourism Office is located at the 3rd Floor of the Municipal Hall Building, Tomas Claudio Street, Brgy. San Pedro, Morong, Rizal.
As the in-charge for the promotion of Morong, Rizal as a tourist destination, the Municipal Tourism Office is responsible for the formulation, development and conduction of innovative programs, promotions, activities and plans to boost the city’s tourism industry.
In insuring the proper implementation of its programs and activities, the Municipal Tourism Office also conducts constant monitoring to guarantee the sustainable uplift of the tourism industry in the local government unit of Morong.
It is also part of the Municipal Tourism Office’s duties to plan, establish, develop, maintain and upgrade the well-known sites and spots under the LGU’s jurisdiction which can be a potential tourism hub. Further, the office is also responsible for performing a regulatory function over tourism-oriented establishments and for the development of various tourism related facilities and services like staging annual festivals and events.
And while on the conduct of such task, the office should take into consideration the harmony of the project to the municipal’s environment and natural resources as well as the citizens value and welfare. It is also the office’s responsibility to cater foreign investors and stakeholders having the aim to develop the municipal’s tourism industry.
The Municipal Tourism Office shall always aim for the improvement of the quality of life by optimizing on the healthy growth of the economy while providing necessary measures in minimizing the possible consequence of the negative impact of tourism in our culture and the citizens’ way of life.
Tourism is considered a relevant factor to developing municipalities, cities and provinces. To some cases, especially to the municipalities/cities with top emerging economies, tourism is vital. And in order not to be left behind the latest trends, the office shall continuously do research, evaluation and studies on tourism related statistics, assist the local tour operators and engaged in facilitating special tourism related promotional events and activities.
